We are a family practice and love treating children. A child should have their first dental visit 6 months after the appearance of their first tooth or by their first birthday. Establishing a dental home is essential so we can help provide instructions and tips on how to care for your child’s oral health, monitor growth and development, and take care of any issues early before it becomes a major problem. Going to the dentist is not a scary thing anymore. We have fun! We take the time to gradually show them all our cool equipment, make friends with our staff, and get your child excited to take care of their oral health.
Sealants are a common treatment we provide to help prevent kids from getting cavities. When a child’s 6 and 12-year molars are erupting, the teeth are often difficult to reach and keep clean. The deep pits and grooves on the chewing surface of the molars are the most common surface for decay in children and teens. Applying sealants is a quick and easy procedure where the tooth is cleaned and the sealant is used to fill in all those hard to reach places and create an easy to clean surface. One sealant application can last for as long as 5 years. Sealants should be checked regularly and reapplied if they are no longer in place.
